About our creative journey
Every knot tells a story, shaped by patience, creativity, and a belief in the enduring charm of handcrafted design.
Manisha Bhardwaj, the founder of Knots and Kala, discovered her love for macrame as a hobby in 2006, a passion that brought her peace and happiness in her free time. In 2016, she decided to share her creations at her first exhibition, and to her surprise, people instantly connected with the beauty and detail of her work.
As the appreciation grew, so did her dreams. That’s how Knots and Kala came to life, a brand built on sustainable, handmade macrame crafted with recycled cotton threads. But for Manisha, this journey is not just about passion; it is also about women’s empowerment. Through Knots and Kala, many women now earn from home, balancing their families while becoming financially independent and confident in their own abilities.
Today, her designs travel from India to homes around the world, proving that when creativity meets purpose, it can create something truly extraordinary.
At Knots and Kala, every piece is more than décor; it’s a handcrafted story meant to inspire every home it touches and every woman who helps create it.
